Fantasy Fair — Relay for Cancer Research Support

The Alpine Executive Center sponsored a SIM for the 2009 Fantasy Fair of Second Life to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This week-long Relay for Life event was transformed into a celebration of creativity, fun and hope. It meant a great deal to the American Cancer Society when the Alpine Executive Center's sponsorship donation was combined with those of other patrons to grow the total gift into an even larger amount. The money raised will make a difference in the battle against cancer. |

The best thing about the way the Faire is organized is that it has multiple revenue streams. The Creators make a fixed donation to the Relay For Life to reserve their spaces. This alone assures the Faire wil not lose money and, in addition, each Creator must have at least two items for sale that benefit the RFL entirely. Friends Fighting Cancer also had vendors with additional specialty items for sale at donation kiosks throughout all the Sims. All of these proceeds benefit the RFL. The goal is to raise $4,000 USD but the potential exists to generate much more. |
